Valerie-Siba Rousparast

Valerie-Siba Rousparast is an award-winning director, Development Lead and writer working across film, television and contemporary media.

With a background in journalism and anthropology, she develops and directs original formats, films, campaigns and editorial projects.

Her work and collaborations include Google, SWR, WDR, ZDF, ZEIT Online, WWF, Mein Grundeinkommen and Germany’s Federal Anti-Discrimination Agency. She has developed and co-developed, written and directed original television formats for German public broadcasting, including SWR’s Five Souls and funk’s Softie. Her senior editorial and creative roles include Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Missy Magazine, Executive Editor of Softie and Executive Editor of international counterculture magazine Nothing Personal.

Her practice sits at the intersection of development, direction and editorial, creating work that is visually distinctive, intellectually ambitious and attentive to the complexities of representation.
